The Norway Chronicles, Part 9: Havøya

Updated: Aug 26

It is official - there is another place that captured my heart as the Isle of Lewis did.

And it is called Havøya.

Yes, I’d learn Norwegian.

And yes I have now idea how to go about it.

But there is something there.

I mean, here.

Welcome!

Welcome anew and welcome a-back to the Norwegian Chronicles.

Today is all about nothing in particular. Unless you count finding infinity in a place something.

I do.

So here’s to finding something.

And that is basically all. Nothing short of a miraculous find, nothing short of a place straight out of dreams. Nothing short of an island that enables me to feel like I can soar again. Fly. Dream big.

And breath.

Driving of from Forsøl this morning, I wasn’t prepared for this.

I thought the bath in the Norwegian sea, turquoise water and white sand beach all to myself was the treasure of the day.

Then I thought the sunshine and the drive through nearly empty landscaoes and along coastal routes was the treat of the day.

Finally, I regarded the second bath in a pool of turquoise, crystalline water directly under a waterfall, as the unchallenged winner of the day's highlights.

Now I have spent approximately three hours talking to locals that were born and raised here.

And my heart is racing with the possibilities, this unexpected turn of events.

Slowly a plan starts to form.

A vague, misty, foggy, unforeseeable plan. Still a plan.

We’ll see what comes of it.

However, this was the gist of my day. A drive that resembles heaven. A day that was mostly extraordinary. An idea starting to take shape in my head. A possible home for my heart emerging out of the Norwegian Sea.

I sent you love and light, my beloved souls.

May you receive all that you need…

…and some of what you wish!

Nadine
